We@ideate took a slow walk with our dear friend and long-time collaborator, researcher & heritage consultant, Jaya Basera, at the Lodhi Gardens, New Delhi. What began as a casual stroll turned into an unhurried exchange: pausing, pointing things out, listening closely, and slipping into light banter along the way. It felt like a quiet shift from screens to stone, walking on grass, and listening to stories for a change.
One thought stayed with us throughout: Why do we assume permanence in structures that have already been reinterpreted so many times? What we experience in heritage spaces anywhere, especially Delhi, is layered and complex. Used, repaired, and continuously reframed over centuries... What we see today is just a momentary settling of a much longer story, one that will shift again.
